Dubai, UAE: A newly established Diplomacy Club has opened its doors in the United Arab Emirates. The club aims to become a bridge in promoting cultural, sports, humanitarian and business diplomacy among the diplomatic community in Dubai, according to Mobisher Rabbani, CEO and founder of the Diplomacy Club-UAE.
Representatives from various consulates were present at the opening ceremony last Sunday, including the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Japan, Peru, Tunisia, Angola, Eritrea, Algeria and Kyrgyzstan.
The event was organised by People Plus Events and Conferences and attended by the members of different business councils at the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Bur Dubai.
Tariq Ahmed Nizami, CEO Clubs Networks, said that the club would benefit the diplomatic community and that it will be a major success.
“We have a strong community of over 12,000 members in the UAE. We will extend our support to the Diplomacy Club to organise a range of events in the future as we have been doing throughout the UAE for the last couple of years.
“As a believer in entrepreneurship and fresh ideas, I would like to endorse the Club and offer our full support,” he said.
Jibran Khan, a co-founder, welcomed the distinguished guests and shared the successes of previously organised events like the Ambassadors Dialogue series, South Asian Cultural Night, 1st Ambassadors Awards and Arts & Cultural Diplomacy evening.
“I am excited to be part of this journey we share and look forward to many more years of fantastic collaboration,’’ he said.
Diplomacy Club also announced an award for Chief Guest Yohannes Telemichael, Consul General of Eritrea and Dean of Consular Corps, for his constructive role in representing the entire consular corps in Dubai.
