The African Cycling Confederation (CAC) has elected an Eritrean, Mussie Asehel, to coach the African Cycling Team that would take part in the Tour of Sharjah First International Cycling Tournament due to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 21 to 24 November.
Mussie Asehel is the coach of the National Eritrean Cycling Team, the gold winner at the recent African Cycling Championship in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
According to Shabait, Dr. Wagih Azzam, President of the CAC, stated in an official letter to the National Cycling Federation that the elected African team embraces 15 cyclists from 15 countries.
The National Sports Commission disclosed that Tesfom Ogbamariam has been elected as the candidate to represent Eritrea, and that the country’s influence in the tournament attests to its growing potential in the sports domain.
A number of experienced cyclists from Greece, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Ukraine would take part in Tour of Sharjah, according to reports.
