Sugar costs around 35-40 Nakfa per kilo (1.82 Euros or 2.33 US Dollars).

In comparison to Sugar, Salt costs far less around 3 Nakfa per kilo (0,15 Euro Cents or 0.20 US Cents)

For a kilo of coffee the costs are 120 Nakfa (6.30 Euros or 8 US Dollars)

Dry Berbere (hot chilly paper) costs 120 Nakfa per kilo (6.30 Euros or 8 US Dollars).

Tomatoes, onions, potatoes and vegetables costs 20 Nakfa per kilo (0, 78 Euro Cents or 1 US Dollar) when production is adequate. During scarce seasons the cost can rise up to 40 Nakfa per kilo (1,60 Euros or 2 US Dollars)

A kilo of meat costs 100 Nakfa (5.22 Euros or 6.66 US Dollars).

Chicken is more expensive then other meat at around 120 Nakfa per kilo.

Wheat, maize and sorghum cost 40 Nakfa per kilo.
