Cairo, October 03 (QNA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit and Chief of the Intelligence Service Minister Omar Sulaiman left Cairo for Asmara for a visit to Eritrea.
The two ranking officials will convey a message from President Hosni Mubarak to the Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki on the latest developments in the horn of Africa.
Both Abul Gheit and Suleiman will also have talks with the Eritrean officials on attempts to solve the Somali crisis.
The security of the Red Sea and the River Nile waters in addition to means of bolstering bilateral relations will be also taken up by the two sides. The two Egyptian officials were supposed to commence their visit earlier Thursday but their plane malfunctioned and was forced to land at Luxor Airport and the trip was delayed for today.
