An Eritrean woman and her Irish-Eritrean daughter, claim the right for the daughter to receive a Irish passport. The father a former UNMEE soldier in Eritrea has died after he returned to Ireland. Although, all parties such as the Irish army, the family of the soldier and an Eritrean court acknowledge the child’s story is true, the Irish government is hesitant to accept the girl as Irish.
